Planned Giving Program

Making a long-term difference...

Why make a planned gift?
  • You are committed to what we do for the hungry.
  • To honor a loved one. A memorial gift provide a lasting rememberance.  It is an eloquent eulogy that will live on.
  • To say thank you. The thank you gift is a powerful way to ensure that the feeding of the hungry continues into the future.
  • It is a fulfilling and meaningful way to express our thanks.
  • To give something back.  Many of us have a desire to share our success and good fortune in giving something back to others. We may gain some deserved recognition for our gift and serve as an example to others in giving back.
  • Personal satisfaction. Helping others brings its own joy and happiness.  Your gift helps meet a basic need for food and enhances food security in the future for hungry people.
Tax advantages
Once you have reached a decision to support an organization through a planned gift, it is wise to explore the various ways the gift can be structured to provide financial benefits to you, while allowing you to help others:
  • Income tax savings. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) allows you to deduct a portion of your charitable donations on your income tax return, provided you itemize.
  • Reduction of estate taxes. Gifts to a qualified organization, either now or at death, avoids the federal estate tax.
The impact
You can fight hunger by including Hunger Task force in your will. Your estate gift provides emergency food to needy families free of charge and supports advocacy efforts that address root causes of hunger. Each year your gift will grow in size and impact, touching the lives of thousands of people. You may also receive valuable tax deductions.

How it works
Your gift becomes a part of Hunger Task Force’s Endowment Fund. The fund is invested and grows tax free. Every year, a portion of the fund is used by Hunger Task force to fight hunger in Milwaukee.
