Over 30 years of hunger advocacy

Hunger Task Force was founded in 1974, when a group of concerned parents worried about children going to school hungry banded together to advocate for school breakfasts for children. Over 30 years later, advocacy still is at the core of who we are as an anti-hunger agency. We encourage effective administration of, and policy improvements to government nutrition programs, including the:
In Wisconsin, many of these programs are under-enrolled or inadequately funded. When these programs are run properly, fewer people fall through the cracks and they won’t have to rely on the charitable safety net.
Additionally, our staff educate community members, develop and organize leaders and challenge institutions to make necessary change. In this manner, we work to end future hunger. Hunger Task Force is a recognized anti-hunger leader and our work has received numerous awards from regional and national organizations.
