The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal entitlement program that reimburses care providers for serving nutritious meals and snacks to children and adults in their care. Through CACFP, 2.9 million children and 86,000 adults receive nutritious meals and snacks each day as part of their day care.
In Wisconsin, over 63,000 individuals participate in CACFP daily, consuming over 35 million meals last year and bringing over $31 million into the dairy state's economy.
Hunger Task Force supports the use of CACFP by qualifying organizations to feed hungry children and seniors.
