Moving government commodities to high-need communities
What is TEFAP?
TEFAP is a federal nutrition program that provides government food commodities to low-income families. The commodities are distributed with other foods at local pantries and soup kitchens. Hunger Task Force has been a TEFAP provider in Milwaukee since 1999, and distributed over 1.5 million pounds of TEFAP food in 2007.

TEFAP Advocacy Goals:
- Secure adequate federal dollars to meet emergency food demand in Wisconsin
- Advocate for rules and policies that ensure ease of program use for providers and clients.
