What is WIC?

WIC provides supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition and breastfeeding information, and referral to other health and nutrition services. WIC also promotes and supports breastfeeding. WIC is proven to reduce the number of premature births, decrease low birth rates, and reduce long-term medical expenses. Participation in the United States is over 8.5 million. In Wisconsin, WIC participation is over 115,000 individuals.
