As of Monday, March 15, the State Department of Health Services has reopened Robles!
The Robles Self Service Center is open Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm and is located at 910 W. Historic Mitchell Street, on the first floor of the Hills Building. This is a new location replacing the old County location which was on the third floor. Please note the new entrance on Mitchell Street instead of 9th Street.
After the State takeover of the Milwaukee County FoodShare program on January 1, 2010, it worked with Hunger Task Force, the Council for Spanish Speaking, and hundreds of area citizens, local business owners, and FoodShare clients to gain support to reopen Robles. The Robles Center was the traditional application site for Spanish, Hmong and Lao speaking immigrants. The office will now be referred to as the Robles Self Service Center.
Clients can learn how to manage their own FoodShare cases, apply for BadgerCare Plus and child care benefits. There are stations available to submit verification, report changes and solve problems.
