First Annual Letter Carrier Olympics!

May 07, 2010

This Friday you are cordially invited to the First Annual Letter Carrier Olympics!

Stamp Out Hunger is the nation's largest one-day food drive, in 2009, over 73 million pounds of food were collected! Hunger Task Force is grateful to everyone who makes the extra effort to fill a donation bag with non-perishable food items and leaves it by their mailbox. We also feel it is important to recognize those who literally do the heavy lifting each year - the letter carriers!

To help illustrate the challenges they face we are hosting the First Annual Letter Carrier Olympics on Friday, May 7 at 9 a.m. Competitors will strap on a mail bag and attempt to collect food bags on their route, all the while avoiding obstacles faced by letter carriers on a daily basis - rain, dogs, bicycles, sports gear, etc. The first racer to get all their food in the donation truck wins...and so do the hungry in Milwaukee when we come together to Stamp Out Hunger!

Donuts and coffee will be provided so stop by for breakfast!

When:  Friday, May 7 / 9 a.m.
Where: Hunger Task Force / Hawley Court off of I-94
Why:    To serve as a reminder to Stamp Out Hunger on Saturday, May 8!
