What:
Stockboxes are free, pre-packaged boxes of food delivered to low-income senior housing sites and senior centers. They are filled with nutritious items that can round out a meal and help seniors maintain a healthy diet.
The Stockbox program is run by Hunger Task Force who currently deliver Stockboxes free of charge to 70 sites in Milwaukee, Waukesha and Washington Counties. The monthly caseload is being increased from 5,000 to 9,500 so more needy seniors in the area get the nutrition they need.
To determine eligibility for the program and to learn of the nearest pickup location and date, residents can call 211 from a landline or 1-866-211-3380 from a cell phone.
