Presentations
Part of preventing and ending hunger involves educating the public as to the causes of hunger, and how we can all be part of the solution.
Our educator and other staff members are available to speak to your adult group on a variety of topics, including:
- Poverty and Hunger in Milwaukee and Wisconsin
- An Overview of the Hunger Task Force
- The 2007 Advocacy Agenda
- Preventing Childhood Hunger in Milwaukee
- Understanding Vital Government Food Programs for the Poor
- Raise Your Voice Against Hunger: Becoming an Anti-Hunger Advocate
- School Breakfast Means School Success
- Fueling Young Minds: How Summer Meals Keep Hunger at Bay
We would be happy to tailor a presentation for your group's needs if given sufficient notice.
How Can I Request a Speaker?
To request a speaker call Hunger Task Force educator Aron Corbett at (414) 238-6470 or email aron@hungertaskforce.org.
Schedule a Hunger Simulation
How would you buy food if you lost your job? Where can you go for help? Our 90-minute interactive workshop gives groups an opportunity to walk in the shoes of individuals and families trying to make ends meet.
Schedule a Tour of Our Food Bank
Ever wonder what happens to the can of food donated at the grocery store? Come behind the scenes to our food bank headquarters and find out how we distribute over 8 million pounds of food each year. Both youth and adult groups are welcome. Groups learn about our network of emergency food organizations, get introduced to the "sort room," and are taken behind the scenes to see how we move food through our network.
