What is food sorting?

food sortersFood sorting is fun, fast paced and Hunger Task Force’s most popular volunteer activity. Over 2,000 people each year help sort between 1.1 – 1.7 million pounds of food. Gather a group from work, church, school or friends for 3 hours and sort over 15,000 pounds of food. Bring your reading glasses so you can check for expired and damaged food. Move, stack and make boxes.

All volunteers must be able to be on their feet throughout the entire three-hour activity.
