Add Jello-O (or preferred brand gelatin mix) into a four cup bowl or dish.
Add one cup of boiling water. Use a spoon to stir the mixture and dissolve the crystals. This takes 1-2 minutes.
Add 1/2 cup cold water, 1/4 cup fruit cocktail juice, and drained fruit cocktail. Stir to combine.
Place uncovered in the fridge for 5 hours, stirring after about 3 hours to evenly distribute the fruit.
Serve once jello is set. Serve using a large serving spoon.
Notes
You can test if it is ready by pressing your finger against it. If the jello sticks to your finger, allow more chill time. Jello is ready once it does not stick to your finger.
