Donate. (do-nate) - To present as a gift to a fund or cause; contribute.
To donate is to give what you have so others do not have to go without. Whether it is your money, cans or boxes of food, or your time, Hunger Task Force could not exist with our donors. As a fully donor-supported agency, YOU are the reason over the past year we were able to deliver 9.5 million pounds of food, free of charge to the 80 food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters in our network. We charge no per poundage fees, no membership fees, no delivery fees, no “shared maintenance” costs. All your food donations are re-gifted to programs giving it to the poor. There are almost no food banks in the entire nation that can state this. And absolutely no one else in Milwaukee.
We are Local. We are Free. We Feed Milwaukee, and we can do it because of YOUR generosity. Thank you, on behalf of our staff, our board, and the people we serve.
You have several options when donating to Hunger Task Force.
Donate Money
When you donate money to fight hunger it’s an investment that doubles immediately. Why? Because through arrangements with wholesalers and partners we are able to purchase food for 50 cents on the dollar. A donation of $1000 buys $2000 worth of food. You get the point. Double your donation when you give to Hunger Task Force. That’s better odds than Vegas and it is tax-deductible! Here’s how you can donate money:
Donate Food
It feels good to drop a can or a box in a barrel, doesn’t it? That’s the old school way of feeding the hungry, with actual food. And remember, Hunger is a 365 day a year problem. We need your donations year-round, and not just when the holidays come around. Hold your own food drive! Pick a specific item or take all comers. Make it a competition between departments at work, classes at school or your neighbors. Register your drive here.

Donate Time
To keep overhead down, Hunger Task Force has a bare-bones staff and relies on volunteers to help us through the crazy times of the year. We need help in all areas of our agency, whether it is in the warehouse, at a pantry or soup kitchen, or around the office! But you need to go through a quick, easy (no, really), and educational orientation. For a list of orientations amore about volunteering, click here.
