Cecelia Gore and the Brewers Community Foundation Have a History of Supporting Basic Needs

Apr 6, 2026

For more than 16 years, Cecelia Gore and the Brewers Community Foundation have supported Hunger Task Force’s efforts to feed our neighbors in need on the day they need food assistance and in the neighborhood they live in. As the Executive Director of the Brewers Community Foundation, Cecelia oversees the foundation’s support of organizations that address the foundation’s focus areas of basic needs, health, education and recreation.

“Hunger Task Force probably hits all the areas in one way or another, but what I know for a fact is that this organization deeply cares about people in our community,” says Cecelia. “Hunger Task Force has been providing needed services for decades and is a go-to organization that people can rely on.”

Cecelia has championed the foundation’s partnership to host the annual CBS 58 Drive-Thru Food Drive for the past 14 seasons. She loves this partnership because it allows Milwaukee Brewers fans to give back in a tangible and convenient way. To date, 659,000 lbs. of food have been collected and then distributed to individuals and families in need at Hunger Task Force’s network of local food pantries just in time for the winter holidays. Additionally, Brewers alumni players have braced the often-frigid temperatures to collect food donations and thank Brewers fans for giving back.

“When we all play on the same team, everybody wins,” adds Cecelia. “I experience real satisfaction when I see important opportunities to connect people who have needs with people who have resources.”

A Milwaukee native, Cecelia is proud of how she and her team have strengthened the Brewers’ charitable arm to improve the lives of countless people in the greater Milwaukee area. She recognizes that Milwaukee is a community with challenges. She knows firsthand that when you ask Brewers fans to step up to the plate, they come together to help each other.

“We already know how important food is and the need to make sure that people are not just fed but fed well,” shares Cecelia. “People need to be able to eat healthy food every single day. I’m so happy that organizations like Hunger Task Force and the Brewers Community Foundation, along with many others, work together to assure that our community is being well fed and taken care of.”
