April Gianeselli Has Been a Strong Supporter and Ambassador of Hunger Task Force for More Than 10 Years

Harley-Davidson has been a strong supporter of the Hunger Task Force Farm since 2012, when it was established as a Signature Program. In 2024, Harley-Davidson recommitted to supporting the critical work at The Farm for another three years!

April Gianeselli serves as the organization’s manager of community impact and has been instrumental in shaping the meaningful relationship between Harley-Davidson and Hunger Task Force into what it is today.

“At the start of our partnership, Harley-Davidson had been looking for a way to invest in our community and The Farm was the perfect fit,” said April. “Hunger Task Force was the right partner because of its credibility and impact in the Milwaukee community. We knew the Farm would bring fresh produce to the people who need it most in Milwaukee County and have enjoyed supporting the operation as it has increased its production and the variety of food available to the community.”

April’s support of Hunger Task Force extends beyond her office. She frequently rolls up her sleeves and volunteers at The Farm and Mobile Market.

“I’ve been with Harley-Davidson for a little over 10 years now and working at the Farm and really seeing how you can plant something, pick it and put it in a bin to go to people in need is so meaningful,” adds April. “In addition to working at The Farm, I’ve also volunteered on the Mobile Market which really allows you to speak and interact with the clients Hunger Task Force serves. I really enjoy helping customers pick out their groceries and welcoming them onto the mobile grocery store.”

Harley-Davidson takes pride in being a hands-on community partner. In fact, more than 2,740 volunteer hours, on the Hunger Task Force Farm, have been logged by Harley-Davidson employees since 2018.

“Every time our employees volunteer at The Farm they leave inspired – and a little dirty and tired,” shares April. “They are always so excited to go back. Bringing our employees into the programming helps not only spread the word and increase awareness but enables them see our company donation in action.”

Harley-Davidson employees also have spent more than 145 hours volunteering in our warehouse building more than 2,400 Stockboxes for low-income seniors in our community.

April didn’t intend to establish her career in community relations, but she wholeheartedly believes that’s what she was meant to do. She feels her role is perfect because she gets to connect nonprofit organizations with Harley-Davidson to get meaningful support while she learns about community solutions to largescale problems – like hunger – in the Milwaukee community she grew up in.
