Hunger Task Force and Autumn West Safe Haven are working together to combat food insecurity among Milwaukee’s most vulnerable unhoused community members. Through this collaboration, residents receive nutritious meals, stable shelter and vital resources to transition into permanent housing.
Julia Means Ends Hunger and Improves Health Outcomes in Milwaukee Through Community Nursing
For more than 40 years, Julia Means has devoted her life to caring for Milwaukee’s most vulnerable. Her partnerships with Hunger Task Force and other local organizations ensure families, seniors, and children receive the nutrition and resources they need to thrive.
Volunteer of the Month: TJ Jensen
Each month Hunger Task Force is honored to recognize an individual or group who go above and beyond in their service to the organization. From food sorting and building healthy food boxes for seniors to helping individuals shop the Mobile Market and harvesting at The Farm, volunteers help Hunger Task Force feed people today and support our work in ending future hunger.
Hunger Task Force and Hadley Terrace Senior Apartments Have Partnered to Support Milwaukee Seniors with Stockboxes Since 2003
Hunger Task Force has partnered with Hadley Terrace Senior Apartments since 2003 to distribute free Stockboxes—monthly boxes of healthy food—to low-income seniors in Milwaukee.

Hunger Task Force Farm – Small Acres, Big Productivity
Pam Jahnke visits with Sarah Bressler, Farm Manager for the Hunger Task Force’s 208 acre property in Franklin, WI. It’s land leased for 30 years in partnership with Milwaukee County. Bressler said they produced a record 411,000 pounds of fresh vegetables and produce they’ll distribute to food pantries.
