Partner of the Month: Milwaukee Jewish Day School
Hunger Task Force recognizes Milwaukee Jewish Day School (MJDS) as Partner of the Month for May 2024. Fifth to eighth-grade students from MJDS performed a mitzvah, volunteering at the Hunger Task Force Farm and West Milwaukee headquarters. Nearly 60 students and teachers sorted 7,000 pounds of healthy food donations, packed 80 Stockboxes for low-income seniors, and helped steward natural areas.

Helping Community Food Pantry and Hunger Task Force Improve Community Nutrition in Milwaukee’s Harambee Neighborhood
For more than 25 years, Hunger Task Force and Helping Community Food Pantry have been working together to combat food insecurity in Milwaukee’s Harambee neighborhood. A majority of the fresh, frozen and nonperishable healthy food available to clients is provided by Hunger Task Force so the pantry can serve more than 1,000 individuals monthly.

In February 2023, Wisconsin families and seniors faced a reduction in their FoodShare benefits due to the end of the federal program providing additional assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over a year later, the end of these benefits meant a significant loss in purchasing power for many Wisconsinites, including 85-year-old Greendale resident Judith Juszczyski.

Hunger Task Force Badger Box Program receives $5 Million Investment from Gov. Evers and DATCP
Governor Evers, along with with the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP), announced today that Hunger Task Force will receive a $5 million investment to continue the work to eliminate food insecurity in rural communities, urban centers, Tribal Nations, and homes across Wisconsin.
Hunger Task Force Kicks Off Annual Food For Families Holiday Drive
This fall, local families will need the community’s support like never before. With rising food and gas prices, Milwaukee pantry traffic has steadily increased throughout the year to over 31,000 people each month. Hunger Task Force and Johnson Controls are calling on all local businesses, large and small, worship groups, book clubs, neighbors, friends and family to join in on Milwaukee’s tradition of generosity and participate in this year’s Food for Families campaign.
