The general function of the Development Director is to manage, direct and oversee Hunger Task Force’s fund and resource development, donor relations and stewardship activities, corporate partnerships, Volunteer Program and signature programs and events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop annual and long-range fund development strategies that include a strong diversity of individual, corporate, foundation, organization and federal funding sources, as well as the execution of planned giving strategies, donor prospect research, capital campaigns, endowment strategies, Hunger Relief Fund of Wisconsin campaigns and special fundraising needs to meet agency fund development goals.
  • Lead and coordinate the planning, execution and evaluation of all agency fund development activities through the Development Department, key agency departments, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, Board of Directors and Executive Council.
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with donors and provide excellent stewardship, gift acknowledgement and donor recognition.
  • Manage and oversee Hunger Task Force’s donor database and Constituent Relationship Management System to ensure strategic, secure donor database management for fund development, reporting, analysis and donor stewardship.
  • Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Department to ensure a consistent integration of branding, marketing, advertising and communications strategy in all campaigns, collateral and development resources.
  • Direct the agency’s corporate relations, signature programs and special events, including sponsored events, fundraisers, organization food drives, community collaborations and volunteer events.
  • Oversee the development, execution and stewardship of the Hunger Task Force Volunteer Program to meet agency and department needs, including corporate engagement strategies, volunteer giving and recognition efforts.
  • Work collaboratively within the agency to ensure cohesive implementation and integration of all Development activities with all departments and agency strategic goals.
  • Directly engage and build relationships with members of the Board of Directors and Executive Council to increase engagement, partner support and community resources.
  • Serve as a back-up agency spokesperson.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises all Development Department managers including oversight of their staff.

Education and/or Experience

5+ years’ experience in development and fundraising required.

Salary Range

$90,200 – $129,800
