Hunger Task Force and Palermo’s Pizza Distribute 600 “Easter Baskets for the Hungry” to Local Families in Need

Now in its 16th year, Palermo’s and Hunger Task Force partnered to host “Easter Baskets for the Hungry.” The annual event provides an Easter meal and other nutritious food to families and seniors in our community. This year, the program holds particular significance, coinciding with Palermo’s 60th anniversary, further solidifying its dedication to giving back to the community.

Through this initiative, hundreds of specially crafted food boxes were assembled and distributed by Palermo’s employee volunteers to local organizations Hunger Task Force supports within its local pantry network. Each box contained food for an Easter dinner, including: a fresh ham, apples, carrots, potatoes, whole grain pasta and pasta sauce, breakfast cereal, Easter treats, Palermo’s frozen pizza, and more.

“Not everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy an Easter meal during the holiday, ” said Hunger Task Force CEO Sherrie Tussler. “We are grateful to Palermo’s and their partnership over the years. They have provided Easter meals for so many families in our community.”

The program’s effectiveness hinges on the complementary strengths of both organizations. Hunger Task Force, with our extensive network of partner pantries, identifies families in need. Palermo’s, a Milwaukee-based company with a deep commitment to social responsibility, contributes their signature pizzas and mobilizes its dedicated workforce. Many Palermo’s employees volunteer their time to pack and distribute the baskets, fostering a spirit of community and fostering personal connection.

Palermo’s and Hunger Task Force have partnered on Easter Baskets for the Hungry since 2008.
