
Canned Salmon Pasta
This pasta recipe comes together quickly and can be made with canned salmon or tuna!
Ingredients
- 1 lb whole wheat uncooked pasta
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced or 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 15 oz canned salmon
- 1 lemon juiced and zest
- 1 Tbsp fresh parsley chopped or 1 tsp dried parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan for topping or cheese of choice (optional)
Instructions
- Cook pasta al dente according to package instructions.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Break up salmon and add it to the pan, then stir in the lemon juice and zest and the chopped parsley.
- Once pasta is done cooking, add a few tablespoons of pasta water to the skillet. Drain the pasta and toss with the salmon.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with cheese if desired. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate within 2 hours.
Notes
Other tips for canned salmon:
- Use as a salad topping or in the place of canned chicken for a salmon salad sandwich.
- Combine canned salmon with taco seasoning, and serve with salsa, corn, and tortillas for an easy weeknight meal.
- Opened canned salmon stays fresh in the fridge for 3-4 days.
