Fruit Infused Green Tea

Liven up green tea with chopped fruit to enhance its flavor and resist temptation to reach for other sugary beverages. Try hot or iced!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 green tea bags
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fruit of choice
  • 1 Tbsp low-sugar jam or preserves of choice

Instructions
 

  • Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  • While water is heating up, add the green tea bags or loose green tea to an infuser to a glass jar or pot.
  • Chop or smash your preferred fruit and add it to the container with the green tea bags.
  • Once the water is boiling, add it to the container with the fruit and tea. Allow it to steep for 5 minutes.
  • Strain and enjoy hot or serve over ice.

Notes

Softer fruits, like berries, peaches, or mango, tend to infuse their flavor better. But, you can try harder fruits, such as apples, for flavor variations.
You can use fresh, frozen, or canned fruits in this recipe. But, be sure to drain and rinse canned fruits that are packed in syrup!
