Volunteer of the Month: Kendra Hauch

Jun 4, 2026

Volunteers play a critical role in Hunger Task Force’s Free & Local mission. Each year, more than 14,300 volunteers support our work to feed people today and end future hunger. By sharing their time, skills and energy, volunteers help make it possible for us to provide healthy food with dignity to kids, families and older adults across our community.

This month, we are honored to recognize Kendra Hauch as our Volunteer of the Month! Since joining the Hunger Task Force volunteer community in 2019, Kendra has contributed hundreds of hours in support of our mission, including nearly 350 hours over the last three years alone across a variety of programs and initiatives.

“What appeals to me about volunteering with Hunger Task Force is knowing that each time I volunteer will have a direct impact on the local community and that it will make a difference in someone’s life,” shares Kendra.

Kendra regularly helps assemble Stockboxes for older adults and supports Hunger Task Force’s Nutrition Education program. She especially enjoys working in school gardens and assisting with cooking lessons in the McCarty Education Kitchen. For Kendra, volunteering is meaningful because each opportunity has a direct impact on the local community and helps make a difference in someone’s life.

Additionally, Kendra has provided valuable support through administrative projects that help Hunger Task Force operate efficiently and reach more people in need. This summer, she will play an important role in supporting the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, which provides thousands of local older adults with vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at farmers markets.

“I really like that Hunger Task Force offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities. I feel like there is something for everyone,” she says. “I respect Hunger Task Force’s core values and mission and am grateful for the opportunity to volunteer with such a great organization.”

We are grateful for Kendra’s commitment and the many ways she supports Hunger Task Force’s mission. Thank you, Kendra, for your time, dedication, and service to our community.
