Hunger Task Force Kicks Off the Milwaukee Summer Meals Collaborative on June 24th at Franklin Square Playfield
What: Hunger Task Force, alongside key local partners, will host a press conference to kick off the start of the Summer Meals Collaborative. This summer, kids and teens (18 and under) are invited to visit one of 130+ sites throughout Milwaukee County for free and nutritious summer meals.
Through this county-wide collaboration, partners are projected to serve more than 450,000 free meals – breakfast, lunch and supper – to Milwaukee-area youth. With more families impacted by rising costs of groceries, housing, utilities and more, this program will provide nourishment for children and much appreciated relief for families.
Financial support from Kohl’s provides many sites with daily suppers to ensure kids receive three healthy meals every day.
When: Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 11:40 a.m.
Where: Franklin Square Playfield, 2643 N. 13th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53206
Visuals: Remarks from Hunger Task Force, Kohl’s, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson and other city officials and a healthy lunch being served to children by Centers for Independence.
Speakers include:
- Matt King, CEO of Hunger Task Force
- Jacquelyn Judkins, Director of Corporate PR and Philanthropy at Kohl’s
