Food For Families

Conduct a Food Drive for Hunger Task Force!

Before you begin your food drive:

  1. To download a food drive packet (PDF) click here. It’s full of great ideas to run the most successful food drive possible, including preferred food items and information about Food For Familieshunger in our community.
  2. To download a poster (PDF) click here. Print it out as an 11x17 page and start advertising when and where your drive will be.
  3. Register your food drive. Registration takes just minutes and tells us everything we need to know about your drive, including your barrel and poster needs, and when we can expect food.

If you have any questions along the way, please be sure to contact Marie Greenfield at (414) 238-6473 or email marie @ hungertaskforce.org. On behalf of the many families needing emergency food assistance, thank you for running a drive for Hunger Task Force!

Your donated food helps Hunger Task Force provide FREE food to Milwaukee’s poor through a network of 80 qualified food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters. And any funds you can collect will help us run our food bank and advocate for an end to hunger!

Donate at Your Grocery Store

The leaves are turning and the weather is getting chilly, which can only mean one thing: Food for Families is back! This fall, Hunger Task Force and Johnson Controls, longtime partners in the fight against hunger in Milwaukee, are joining forces to feed the poor through the Food for Families food drive, a Milwaukee holiday staple since 1978.

Shoppers in grocery stores throughout southeastern Wisconsin can make donations of non-perishable food in Hunger Task Force collection barrels located near the checkout aisles.

On Monday, November 2, Hunger Task Force will Roll Out the Barrels at Milwaukee area Pick 'n Save stores! For a list of participating grocery stores currently accepting donations, click here.

pick n save scan cardWhen you’re going through the checkout line at Pick ‘n Save, give a little extra with a Food For Families scanner card. For as little as $1, you can have your name on a card displayed at the store, letting your community know that you support Hunger Task Force and our mission to end hunger.

Donations can also be made at Hunger Task Force, 201 S. Hawley Court, off the Hawley Rd. exit on I-94 west of Miller Park. Hunger Task Force will deliver all Food for Families donations to the poor free of charge through its network of 80 soup kitchens, food pantries and homeless shelters.
