More About Volunteering
Help Hunger Task Force build Stockboxes for local seniors in need. A Stockbox is a box of healthy foods that Hunger Task Force delivers to low-income seniors free of charge. Each box contains 16 nutritious items including rice, cereal, juice, beef stew, pasta and vegetables. Each month we deliver nearly 9,000 boxes to seniors in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Stockbox building takes place at Hunger Task Force’s south warehouse located at 300 E. College Avenue, at the old 440th Air Force Base (Milwaukee, 53207).
- Activity requires volunteers to be their feet for the entire three-hour activity and ability to lift 20 pounds.
- Closed-toe sturdy shoes must be worn – no sandals – and clothes that can get dirty.
- Volunteers must be 12 years of age or older. An adult chaperone must accompany anyone between 12-15 years of age. Chaperones must also fill out a volunteer application.
